Michael Bublé’s introduction to the music of the swing era came to him through his grandfather, who filled his grandson’s ears with the sounds of The Mills Brothers, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, and others. As Michael Bublé eagerly absorbed the recordings, Michael Bublé began to realize that he wanted to be a singer and that this style of music, virtually foreign to Michael Bublé's own generation, was what he wanted to perform.

With his grandfather’s assistance, Michael Bublé soon learned a whole catalog of tunes and gained experience and exposure by singing as a guest with several local bands. While still in Michael Bublé's teen years, he won the Canadian Youth Talent Search, released several independent albums, and performed in a musical review titled Swing that traveled across the U.S. It wasn’t long before Michael Bublé was introduced to Grammy-winning producer David Foster during a famous Canadian wedding of Brian Mulroney’s daughter Caroline Mulroney. Michael Bublé later signed his first major recording contract with Reprise Records after that encounterment.

"Michael Bublé", Michael’s debut album, was released 11 February 2003 by 143 Records/Reprise Records. The album went to the top 10 in Canada, the United Kingdom, South Africa and reached #1 in Australia. It achieved marginal success in the United States reaching the top 50 on the Billboard 200. In November 2003, Michael Bublé released a Christmas EP Let It Snow, containing 5 previously unreleased tracks, that peaked at 56 on the Billboard 200. The title track reached the top 40 of the Australia singles chart.

Michael Bublé’s second studio album, It's Time, was released 15 February 2005. The album reached # 1 in Canada, Italy, Japan, and the Billboard Top Jazz chart, #2 in Australia, and #7 on the Billboard 200. Michael Bublé's third studio album, Call Me Irresponsible, was released 1 May 2007. Michael Bublé's fourth studio album, Crazy Love, was due from 143/Reprise Records on 13 October 2009.
